On February 28, Ambassador Qian Minjian of the People's Republic of China to Switzerland attended the 2026 "Chinese Flavors" --- Year of the Horse Carnival hosted by the China Cultural Center in Bern, and delivered a speech. Also present were former Swiss Ambassador to China Jean-Jacques de Dardel, former Judge of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court Hans Wiprächtiger, President of Switzerland-China Connection, as well as around 200 guests, friends from cultural sectors of both countries, and members of the media.

In his remarks, Ambassador Qian first extended his New Year greetings for the Year of the Horse to people from all walks of life in China and Switzerland. He noted that with a history of several thousand years, China’s culinary culture is an important part of its traditional civilization. It reflects the sincere aspiration for a better life and contains the Chinese nation’s philosophy of harmonious coexistence. Ambassador Qian warmly welcomed Swiss friends to visit China and experience its rich and diverse food culture in person.

Featuring performances of traditional arts and tastes of Chinese cuisine, the event was held in a lively and festive atmosphere, fully demonstrating the charm of Chinese culture.
