
On January 27, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Qian Minjian met with Federal Councillor Albert Rösti, Head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications.
Ambassador Qian stated that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Switzerland innovative strategic partnership, presenting broad opportunities for innovative cooperation between the two countries. Both sides should strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, fully leverage complementary strengths, and tap into cooperation potential, injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations.
Federal Councillor Rösti noted that Switzerland attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and firmly supports multilateralism and free trade. He looked forward to an early completion of modernizing the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), better promoting mutual benefit and win-win results, as well as continuously striving for new outcomes in practical cooperation between the two countries.
