Steps for Legalisation

To have a document which was executed in the Switzerland be accepted in the People's Republic of China, the document shall,

 

I.  Be translated into Chinese by a Swiss Notary Public or a Qualified Translation Company.

II. Be notarized by a Swiss Notary Public.

III.Be authenticated by the Legalization Office of Swiss Federal Chancellery.

IV. Be authenticated by this Embassy.

If the document was issued by an office of the Swiss Government or a public institution, it can be directly sent to Swiss Federal Chancellery for authentication before it undergoes authentication by this Embassy.

 

If the document was notarized by states which belong to the consular district of the Chinese Consulate-general in Zurich, it can be sent to the state government of Zurich for authentication, then to the Chinese Consulate-general in Zurich.
